First Day of School
We are looking forward to welcoming all students back to The Nest on Monday, August 14th . Students Will not need their instruments on the first day of school but will need them on TUESDAY, AUGUST 15th . We will assign band lockers on Monday & the band room will be open for all students by 8am each morning.
Please note that marching band practices will begin this week! Here is our weekly schedule for marching band:
• Tuesdays 5-8pm
• Wednesdays (Drumline & Front Ensemble ONLY) 3-5pm
• Thursdays 4-6:30pm
*After school rehearsals are summative assessments so attendance is required at EVERY rehearsal*
New Cell Phone Policy
As a reminder and pursuant to HB 379, student use of all wireless communication devices is prohibited during instructional time unless express permission is granted by the teacher and only used for instructional purposes. This includes cell phones, tablets, earbuds, and smartwatches. All wireless communication devices must be stored in a backpack or purse during instructional time. This new policy will be in effect beginning Monday, August 14, 2023. Any student who violates this policy is subject to disciplinary action. Please reach out to your school administration with any questions or concerns you may have. If you need to reach your student during class, please call the front office!

First Parent Meeting of the Year
Our first parent meeting of the year will be Tuesday, August 15th at 7pm in the Band Room. This is the best way to keep up with the program and to get involved! Additionally, if you plan on volunteering during marching season, plan to attend this meeting so that you can purchase your volunteer shirt.
